Don't hate the player, hate the game. We've all heard that saying and Rita Ewing, ex-wife of NBA legend Patrick Ewing admits no amazement to Tiger Woods' bad slice of late. "It's not a surprise," commented Rita Ewing on the news of Tiger Woods and his infidelity. She continued to state that infidelity is "par for the course" when married to a celebrity athlete.Ewing cited elements in the world of basketball that were conducive to infidelity. Wives are not allowed to tour with players and teammates and coaches are proponents of love on the road provided that athletes practice safe sex.
Although Woods' world is golf, the same apparently can be applied to some degree. With celebrity status, comes power. And power, especially absolute power on the court or the green, corrupts absolutely.
