The Most Fascinating Person of 2009 is...

On Wednesday evening, the ABC Barbara Walter's yearly special, the "10 Most Fascinating People" aired. Some of the most talked about people of the year were honored and interviewed by Walters. The end of the special revealed the First Lady, Michelle Obama as THE most fascinating person of. This accolade comes one year after President Barack Obama won the honor in 2008.

In the past year since the Obama family has been living in the White House, all eyes have been on Michelle Obama. From her fashion sense, to her awesomely toned arms, and her dedication to healthier eating, people listen and watch when Mrs. Obama is on television, the cover of magazines or attending a function.

Mrs. Obama was up against some stiff competition in Sarah Palin, Kate Gosselin, Tyler Perry, among others, but she pulled ahead to take the number one spot. And really, would there be any other fitting choice?

Many congratulations are in order to French-born, New York-based designer Sophie Theallet for winning the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America)/Vogue Fashion Fund design award on Monday night. If her name doesn't ring a bell immediately, the designer's young label caught the eye of a very fashionable First Lady, Michelle Obama, who has worn Sophie Theallet's clothing on more than a few occasions in the past year.


Theallet is also known for going against the norms in the fashion world as she only choose to cast black models for her 2009 Spring runway show. The designer, who describes her look as "Bohemian luxe", has won 200,000 and a year of mentoring from the CFDA/ Vogue. This should be a sign of great things to come for Ms. Theallet in the future. Michelle Obama on the Cover of Time

The firts lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, is on the cover of a new issue of Time Magazine. In a spread called 'The Meaning of Michelle', she talks about the simplicities of her husband, President Barack Obama, growing up on the South side of Chicago and building bridges within the community.

"I think that might be one of the small themes in my professional life, is to try to be the bridge so that more people feel like they have access; that their voice, that their faces, that their worlds count in places like this and that there is understanding across those divides", Michelle Obama tells Time Magazine.
